Farnborough Arms Fair returns in July. No to the Horror Show!

Farnborough Arms Fair (Farnborough International Airshow) returns this year. The fair runs from 22nd-26th July 2024.

Local groups are organising protests/vigils on Wed 24th July to coincide with the military conference taking place at the fair. 

No to Farnborough Airshow! Peaceful protest 24th July 2024 9.00am - 4.00pm Assemble outside ‘KwikFit’ 30-32 Farnborough Rd, GU14 6AY (Parking at Napier Gardens GU14 6EF or Peabody Road Car Park GU14 6ER) Please support local and national groups campaigning for an end to the Arms Trade and for the Airshow to stop pollution and noise. Greater Rushmoor Action for Peace (GRAFP), East Berkshire Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Quakers, Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT), guest speakers, Raised Voices choir, testimony from survivors of war.

What is Farnborough International Airshow? The show welcomes manufacturers of warplanes, helicopters, missiles, drones, spy satellites.. This year arms companies are out in force, including Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, RTX Raytheon, Boeing, Leonardo, and Israeli arms companies Elbit Systems, Rafael, and many more. Opposition is expected from groups saying no to weapons that are causing death and destruction in Palestine, Yemen and around the world. This is a shop window for the world’s arms dealers. Exhibitors we are expecting to be at the arms fair include:

BAE Systems – makes Typhoons warplanes that the Saudis used to bomb Yemen; makes 15% of F35 warplane used by Israel to attack Gaza
Lockheed Martin – F35 and F16 manufacturer. Used by Israel in Gaza.
RTX Raytheon – Paveway bombs, used in Yemen;
Leonardo – Typhoon maker; guidance system for F35
Boeing – major warplane supplier, F15, Chinook, Apache Gunship

Israeli arms companies, linked to the Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza
Elbit – drones, missiles, weapons used in Gaza, Israel’s largest privately owned arms company
Rafael – missile maker, weapons used in Gaza
IAI – Israel Aerospace Industries, major supplier to Israeli armed forces (mainly does e.g. aircraft maintenance, upgrades, drones)
