UTC is one of the world’s largest military suppliers. It states that it is “a strong and vital presence on some of the most important military platforms in service today” including the Eurofighter Typhoon, Lockheed Martin F-35 and Northrop Grumman Global Hawk (UTC website). In 2012 it pleaded guilty to the “illegal export to China of U.S.-origin military software used in the development of China’s first modern military attack helicopter” (US Dept of Justice, 28.6.2012).
