West Midlands workshop: How will you Stop the Arms Fair?

We’re on tour across the UK in the run up to the DSEI arms fair. Join activists from across the West Midlands on Tuesday 25 August for an interactive workshop to find out more about the DSEI arms fair,  and link up with others interested in taking action against it. Whether you’re new to campaigning or an experienced activist, there are lots of ways to get involved!

We’ll be meeting at Carrs Lane Lived Community Centre at Carrs Lane URC Church, five minutes from Birmingham Moor Street Station. You can see the venue on google maps on this link. There will be a bring-and-share meal from 6pm that everyone is welcome to, and the workshop will take place from 7pm-9pm.

DSEI is one of the world’s biggest arms fairs. This September, in London, arms companies will be arriving to display their weapons to buyers from around the world. The UK government helps to organise this arms fair, invites military buyers from around the world, and helps arms companies to make deals, at taxpayer expense.

This has to stop, and together we can stop it. A week of action is planned to take place 7th September – 12th September, to make it as difficult as possible for the arms fair to go ahead. We can target the arms dealers in our midst with daily direct action, mass public actions and creative campaigning- so come along to find out more and help stop the arms fair!
