Stop Elbit defendants in court: call out for solidarity

This summer’s Block the Factory demonstration drew campaigners from across the UK to protest at Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems’ factory in Shenstone. But 19 people were arrested during the demonstration, charged with breaching a High Court injunction that Elbit Systems had taken out in an attempt to halt protests at the factory. Campaigners have successfully challenged the injunction, and the ban on protest at the site has been lifted.

On Friday 28th August, the 19 arrested at the Block the Factory demonstration will be appearing at Burton-on-Trent magistrates court, and are expected to plead Not Guilty to the charges. Show your support with those arrested by joining one of the solidarity demonstrations.

Support the defendants at court

There will be a small solidarity demonstration outside Burton-on-Trent magistrates court on Friday 28th August from 9.15am, to show support for the defendants as they enter their pleas. This is organised by West Midlands PSC. All are welcome- there is a facebook event with more information here.

Join the Right to Protest vigil at Elbit’s Factory

Boycott Israel Network, in collaboration with the many other groups who have protested at the Elbit-owned factory over many years, have called a vigil at the Elbit factory to take place at the same time as the court hearing. This will take place on Friday August 28th from 10am-12 midday outside UAV Engines factory on Lynn Lane, Shenstone. All are welcome, please bring banners and flags.
