AAD is “the largest exhibition of air, sea and land capabilities on the
African continent”. The previous event in 2010 had over 13,000 trade visitors
and 350 exhibitors from 31 countries (AAD 2010
website). The UK government took a
“strong” delegation to AAD 2010 including UKTI DSO’s Senior Military Adviser
and its Regional Director. They were joined by British soldiers from the UKTI
DSO Export Support Team who displayed a range of equipment.
