AWE manufactures, maintains and develops the warheads for the UK’s Trident nuclear missiles.
While the MoD owns AWE sites, the “day-to-day management, operations and the maintenance” of the UK’s nuclear weapons is the responsibility of AWE Management Limited.
AWE ML has three shareholders:
- Lockheed Martin – 51%
- Jacobs Engineering – 24.5%
- Serco – 24.5%
