Excelitas is a US-based optoelectronics company which operates across a number of sectors. Its Defense and Aerospace business comprises: Soldier Systems; Satellites; Missiles and Missile Defense; Helmet-Mounted and Head-Up Display; C4ISR; and Avionics.
The company acquired Qioptiq, which has a number of sites in the UK and Germany, in 2013.
UK government data obtained by CAAT shows that Qioptiq has applied for arms export licences to many countries (the data covers 2008-2015). These include Brazil, Eqypt, France, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the US.
