Redmayne Engineering

Redmayne describes itself as “a well established privately owned precision engineering company specialising in the production of fine limit components for the aerospace and allied industries”.

It holds approvals for supplying a number of major companies including BAE Systems and AgustaWestland (now Leonardo’s Helicopter Division).

The company’s role in the production of Israel’s Apache attack helicopters was revealed by the Guardian in 2006. Several key Apache components were identified as being produced in the UK, including the “Jesus Nut” – used to hold the main rotor head – manufactured by Redmayne [source: Guardian 29.7.2006, plus diagram which is not available online].
