In 2017 the TUC Congress passed a resolution, ‘Defence, Jobs and Diversification’. It called on trade unions and the TUC to lobby the Labour Party to establish a Shadow Defence Diversification Agency (DDA) that would draw up practical plans for converting jobs away from defence industries, while protecting skilled employment and pay levels.
Take this draft resolution to your local Labour Party branch, and be sure to let central Labour Party and Shadow front bench know if your local Party support it.
