Campaign Against Arms Trade makes criminal complaint to War Crimes Unit at Met Police over individuals exhibiting at DSEI aiding and abetting Israel’s war crimes in Gaza

CAAT has informed the War Crimes Unit at the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command (SO15), of the criminal liability held by a number of individuals for atrocity crimes currently taking place in Gaza, who are attending Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) at the ExCeL Centre in Newham, East London.

This week at the UK’s bienniel arms fair 51 Israeli companies are present. These include Israel’s three largest arms companies – Elbit Systems, Rafael and Israel Aerospace Industries who are attending despite the UK government refusing to invite an official Israeli government delegation.

Under Section 52(1) of the Act, it is an offence against the law of England and Wales to engage in “conduct ancillary” to a war crime or a crime against humanity. Under Section 55, an “ancillary offence” includes aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the principal offence.

Two exhibiting companies Elbit Systems and Israeli state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries were named in the July 2025 report of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories as central to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

  • A spokesperson for CAAT said:

“These are the arms companies arming the IDF. These are the arms companies facilitating and profiting from Israel bombing hospitals, killing journalists and creating a man-made famine. UK law is clear – these individuals should be investigated for crimes against humanity, not invited to profit from the unspeakable devastation they have caused in Gaza.”

CAAT would not exist without its supporters. Each new supporter helps us strengthen our call for an end to the international arms trade.
