Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce produces military aircraft engines, naval engines and cores for nuclear submarines. Despite arms comprising only 26% of its total sales, it is still the world’s 17th largest arms company (SIPRI). It has military aircraft engines in service with “160 customers in 103 countries” (Rolls-Royce website).

In January 2017, following long-running investigations into allegations of bribery, Rolls-Royce reached a settlement with the UK’s Serious Fraud Office and US and Brazilian prosecutors. In total, the company is to pay £671 million in penalties. (Guardian, 16.1.2017). Read the court judgment.
