An academic conference with a difference! Students, academics & community organisers are (un)/learning from each other, whilst protesting at the gates of an arms fair. "We want the arms trade to be exposed for what it is – a system that upholds racist, colonial, patriarchal, oppressive systems"

The struggle for climate justice and the struggle to end the arms trade are closely intertwined. When fossil fuel resources are extracted, land captured, and communities displaced by governments and fossil fuel companies, it is arms that make it possible.

Day three of the #StopDSEI protests saw a morning of back-to-back successful blockades of both entrances to the DSEI site, meaning vehicles carrying weapons and equipment were blocked from getting in.

Day two of the #StopDSEI week of action and the roads to the arms fair were blocked for hours at a time. Day 1 of Stop the Arms Fair Week of action 2019 to shut down DSEI.

In just 6 weeks' time, arms companies from around the world will be setting up at the Excel Centre in East London for 'DSEI', one of the biggest arms fairs in the world, made possible by the political and financial backing of the UK government. We will be there to resist. Turkish explosives

Our fight to stop the DSEI arms fair is inextricably linked with other intersecting struggles for justice – struggles that It Starts Here called to put front and centre of our action in 2019.

The DPRTE arms fair was moved to Birmingham after energetic protest and objections from locals drove it out of Cardiff ... now the threat of protest in Birmingham has forced the event to move before it even opens!
